The University of Kansas invites applications for a Language Consultant to support the LING 421 Capstone Typology course at the Lawrence campus. The role involves elicitation with language users, translating words and phrases, and attending scheduled class sessions in person on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 9:30am-10:45am.

Compensation is $20.00 per hour. The workload is about 5 hours per week, with anticipated start in the week of January 26, 2027.

Competenze

• Native speaker of a language other than English.
• Fluent speaker of English.
• Preferred: Native speaker of a language less commonly studied in the U.S.
• Experience teaching or working with high school or undergraduate students as shown in application materials.

Mansioni

• Attend class in-person up to 2 times/week and be present for outside elicitation.
• Translate words and phrases from English.
