Job summary

Freudigman & Billings is seeking a part-time Math & Science Tutor to provide individualized support for high school students at our center in Westport, CT. Sessions focus on biology, math, and chemistry, including honors and AP coursework, to build understanding and confidence.

The ideal candidate enjoys explaining challenging concepts clearly, thrives in a fast-paced setting, and can form strong relationships with students while maintaining professional judgment and organization.

Qualifications

• Strong academic background in Biology, Math, and Chemistry.
• Ability to teach high school coursework; AP-level experience preferred.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Self-motivated with strong relationship-building.
• Ability to pass a background check.

Responsibilities

• Provide one-on-one instruction to high school students in Biology, Math, and/or Chemistry.
• Support students across honors and AP-level classes.
• Reinforce conceptual understanding rather than simply helping with assignments.
• Help students prepare for quizzes, exams, AP exams, and other assessments.
• Develop students’ analytical, problem-solving, and independent learning skills.
• Collaborate with the Subject Tutoring Team to develop and execute individualized plans for each student.
• Coordinate with other members of a student's educational team to provide coordinated services.
• Maintain confidentiality and security of client information.
• Attend staff meetings and client case reviews as required.
