Job summary

HeyTutor is partnering with a Victorville school district to hire tutors for high school students (9th–12th grade) during and after school hours. Tutors will help students catch up on gaps from the past year and must pass an in-person background check.

This role offers consistent tutoring hours and an opportunity to support local students in your community. Salary ranges from $22–$26 per hour, with pay determined at interview based on education and experience.

Qualifications

• Must have AA or higher or be currently enrolled in college/university.
• Tutoring experience with kids.
• Comfortable working in a classroom setting.
• Clear FBI-DOJ background check (provided through us).
• Clear TB Test.

Responsibilities

• Work with groups of students (without the support of a teacher or school site staff).
• Prepare area to start tutoring session.
• Take attendance and run lessons through HeyTutor Dashboard (if applicable).
• Document student progress with HeyTutor Dashboard.
• Lead tutoring sessions using curriculum and materials provided by the program.
• Create an engaging environment that fosters a sense of belonging that kids want to be in.
• Support students in making positive behavior choices.
• Daily clocking in and out of Deputy for shifts.
