Job summary

Novastar Prep Tutoring seeks an experienced Digital SAT Tutor to provide one-on-one, in-home SAT preparation in Arlington, VA (22207). You will teach Digital SAT Reading/Writing and/or Math, focusing on test strategy, pacing, and score improvement for motivated students.

The role requires strong instructional skills, adaptability for learning differences, and a commitment through at least one academic semester. Immediate need for evenings and weekend daytime hours.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Minimum of 1 year of SAT teaching or tutoring experience strongly preferred.
• Strong knowledge of the Digital SAT format, adaptive structure, and question types.
• Experience with ADHD, IEPs/testing accommodations, test anxiety, executive functioning challenges, or learning differences strongly preferred.
• In-person tutoring in Arlington, VA 22207.
• Reliable transportation.
• Ability to commit to at least one academic semester.
• Ability to pass a background check.

Responsibilities

• Deliver one-on-one Digital SAT instruction in a student's home in Arlington, VA.
• Teach Digital SAT Reading and Writing and/or Math.
• Guide students through test-taking strategies, pacing, question analysis, and timed practice.
• Break complex material into clear, manageable steps.
• Adapt instruction for students with ADHD, testing accommodations, test anxiety, executive functioning needs, or other learning differences.
• Incorporate visual, interactive, and practice-based teaching strategies when appropriate.
• Build student confidence while maintaining clear goals and measurable progress.
• Track student performance and communicate progress and instructional insights as needed.
