The Office of Congressman Shri Thanedar is seeking an in-person Communications Assistant based in Washington, DC or Detroit, MI. The role focuses on conveying the congressman's priorities to constituents in a clear, distinctive, and engaging way.

The ideal candidate is creative, highly organized, a self-starter who can manage priorities, is tech-savvy, and works well in a team. Graphic design skills are highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Work with the congressman to understand priorities for Michigan’s 13th District.
• Proactively seek and execute earned media opportunities (op-eds, press releases, appearances).
• Help design and place communications across emails, social media, mail, and video ads.
• Collaborate with legislative and district staff to share priorities and accomplishments.
• Pitch creative ideas for communication efforts.
