Job summary

The Office of Congressman Shri Thanedar in Detroit, MI or Washington, DC is seeking an in-person Communications Assistant. The role emphasizes relaying priorities and accomplishments to constituents in a clear, distinctive, and captivating manner.

Responsibilities

• Work with Congressman Thanedar to understand priorities and constituents' needs.
• Proactively seek and execute earned media opportunities including op-eds, press releases, radio and TV appearances, and press inquiries.
• Help design and place communications including emails, social media, mail, video ads, and teletownhalls.
• Collaborate with legislative and district staff to communicate priorities and accomplishments to constituents.
• Propose and pitch creative ideas for communication efforts.
