Job summary

CNB Bank in Carlsbad, NM is seeking a full-time Teller to handle cash transactions, deposits, and record-keeping with accuracy. You will cash checks, verify signatures and balances, and enter transactions into the computer system.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, attention to detail, basic math and computer skills, and the ability to work independently. Bilingual Spanish is a plus but not required. This is an in-person, full-time position at our Carlsbad branch.

Qualifications

• Spanish-speaking preferred, but not required.

Responsibilities

• Receives checks and cash for deposit, verifies amount, and examines checks for endorsements.
• Cashes checks and pays out money after verification of signatures and customer balances.
• Enters customers’ transactions into computer to record transactions, and issues computer generated receipts.
• Places holds on accounts for uncollected funds.
• Orders daily supply of cash, and counts incoming cash.
• Balances currency and coin in cash drawer/vault at end of shift and compares totaled amounts with data displayed on computer screen.
• Removes deposits from, and counts and balances cash in from automated teller machine and/or night depository.
• Accept loan payments.
• Prepare and record cash transactions for customer change order requests.
• Accept and process large coin deposits.
• Redeem and record savings bond redemption transactions.
• Receive and record customer item stop-payment requests.
• Prepare and record account closing transactions.
• Explains, promotes, or sells products or services such as cashiers’ checks, and savings bonds.
• Prepare and verify wire documents
