Job summary

H&R Block is hiring a Tax Associate in a hands-on, apprenticeship-style program. This in-person role focuses on reviewing each client's tax situation, providing clear advice, and building trust with clients.

You'll grow with training, supported by technology and a Client Care Specialist, while collaborating with the team to meet office goals and deliver excellent service during tax season.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of the H&R Block Income Tax Course.
• Experience interacting with customers or clients in a service-oriented environment.
• Strong communication skills, including explaining information clearly and asking questions to understand needs.
• Problem-solving skills, including organizing information and identifying solutions.
• Comfort using digital tools and systems as well as AI-based tools such as Copilot and ChatGPT.
• High school diploma / GED / equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Partner with a dedicated Client Care Specialist who gathers client information, allowing you to focus on reviewing each client's tax situation and delivering a great experience.
• Leverage H&R Block's advanced technology to prepare returns while you focus on reviewing results, ensuring accuracy, and providing personalized advice.
• Use open-ended questions and active listening to understand client needs and identify tax savings opportunities.
• Recommend relevant products and services based on client needs, questions, and unique situations.
• Apply problem-solving skills to analyze client information and address questions with guidance and resources.
• Continue building tax knowledge through ongoing training to grow your confidence and ability to serve clients effectively.
• Build strong client relationships and support office goals through teamwork, collaboration, and a client-first approach.
