Job summary

Universal Health Services (UHS) – Western Region Consolidated Business Office (WCBO) seeks a Patient Account Specialist for in‑office insurance accounts receivable work. You will manage and follow up on Commercial, Managed Care and third‑party balances, ensure accurate coding and documentation, and resolve issues to restore patient accounts.

The role requires 3–5 years in healthcare collections and 2–3 years in claims collections, experience in acute care settings, and proficiency with EOBs,

Qualifications

• 3–5 years healthcare/collection experience.
• 2–3 years claims collections experience in healthcare.
• Acute care setting experience in hospital or clinic.
• Knowledge of insurance billing and patient reimbursement.
• Clear and effective communication across organizational levels.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and process patient accounts and AR balances.
• Follow up on Commercial, Managed Care and third‑party AR.
• Document actions taken to resolve issues.
• Review payer EOBs to determine follow‑up based on procedures.
• Check claim status via online portals and payer portals.
• Check eligibility and update insurance plans based on coverage.
