Job summary

Freeman Mathis and Gary, LLP is hiring an experienced paralegal for our Kansas City office. This 100% in-office position seeks a meticulous professional who can support trial preparation, medical chronologies, and discovery tasks with strong communication and organizational skills.

The ideal candidate will have a bachelor’s degree and ABA-approved paralegal certificate, familiarity with web-based legal research, and experience with paperless files. Background/drug screen is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and paralegal certificate from ABA approved program required.
• Experience with web-based legal research is preferred.
• Experience with paperless filing environments (e.g., iManage) is a plus.
• Must pass background and drug screen.

Responsibilities

• Assist attorneys with the preparation of civil cases for trial.
• Summarize medical and employment records, create medical chronologies, and summarize discovery responses.
• Prepare meet and confer correspondence and assist with motion practice (oppositions, discovery motions, continuances).
• Organize and manage multiple tasks with attention to detail in a fast-paced, in-office environment.
