Superior Ambulance Service is seeking a Medical Coder for our Billing Department. This in-office role is based in Elmhurst, IL or Taylor, MI, working Monday through Friday. You will review patient care reports, determine medical necessity, and code services with accuracy.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma, knowledge of medical terminology, and strong typing and communication skills. Benefits include health insurance and tuition reimbursement.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalency required.
• Knowledge of medical terminology.
• Excellent verbal communication skills.
• Typing speed of at least 35 WPM.

Responsibilities

• Review patient care reports to establish medical necessity and service levels.
• Maintain communication with internal/external departments to obtain missing documentation.
• Refer reports to Processing Manager for coding questions.
• Code with high accuracy and meet productivity standards.
• Utilize Excel and Word for documentation and tracking.
