Job summary

Innovative Mechanical & Design (IMD) in Windsor, CO is seeking a Controller to lead IMD’s core accounting operations and ensure timely financial reporting for construction projects.

You will oversee AR/AP, job costing, general ledger, month-end close, and internal controls, partnering with payroll, HR, and leadership to improve cash flow and margins.

This in-office role requires 7+ years construction accounting, a CPA or CFMA/CCIFP preferred, and a proactive, detail-driven leader.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting.
• 7+ years of construction accounting experience preferred.
• Construction industry experience preferred; CPA preferred.
• Strong financial analysis, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent time management and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.

Responsibilities

• Lead AR, AP, Job Costing, General Ledger, Contracts Management.
• Partner with Payroll and HR to ensure financial accuracy, compliance, and coordinated workflows.
• Oversee construction billing, WIP, cost accounting, and project administration within finance.
• Maintain KPI dashboards and monthly analytical processes for performance review.
• Support audits and external reporting and optimize ERP tools.
