Job summary

The Florida Department of Health in Collier County seeks a Budget Analyst to oversee complex budget development, financial monitoring, reporting, and analysis within the Finance & Budget section. The role reports to the Finance and Accounting Director I - SES and handles confidential information.

Responsibilities include coordinating CHD budgets, overseeing budget entries in FIRS, training staff, preparing annual county contracts, and ensuring timely financial reports using FIRS, MFMP, FLAIR,

Qualifications

• Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles.
• Knowledge of State Accounting system, state statutes, rules and regulations.
• Skilled in using personal computers and Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Ability to apply continuous quality improvement tools and techniques.

Responsibilities

• Assist in budget development, coordination, submission, and monitoring of budgets.
• Oversee budget entries and provide training to managers and staff.
• Prepare and present monthly and annual financial reports and analyses.
• Monitor revenue, expenditures, and variances; ensure compliance with reporting deadlines.
• Maintain depreciation data and assist with financial statements and contracts.
