Job summary

Ericsson Research in Santa Clara, CA is seeking a Researcher to advance AI/ML for next‑generation wireless networks and to collaborate with an international team. This in‑office role supports publishing findings and driving technology strategy.

You will develop ML methods, run experiments, and evaluate models to demonstrate AI value in wireless systems. A PhD/MSc in EE/CS with AI/ML focus is preferred, with PyTorch/JAX and ns-3/OMNeT++ experience valued.

Qualifications

• PhD, MSc or equivalent in EE/CS with AI/ML focus.
• Strong knowledge of wireless concepts and systems.
• Experience with PyTorch or JAX.
• Familiar with AI hardware/software co-design.
• Experience with ns-3 or OMNeT++.
• Strong analytical thinking and proposal development.
• Ability to lead research and collaborate effectively.
• Excellent communication and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with an international, diverse team of researchers to develop AI/ML solutions for future mobile networks.
• Develop machine learning methods and algorithms addressing complex problems across the wireless stack.
• Conduct research and experiments, build and evaluate models, and generate results demonstrating AI value for wireless systems.
• Explore emerging AI techniques and assess application to wireless challenges.
• Partner with research, development, and product teams to bring outcomes into real-world products.
• Publish and present findings at leading industry and academic venues.
• Contribute to a collaborative research culture by sharing ideas and shaping technical direction.
