Job summary

JCW Group, a well-established private equity firm in New York, seeks a Transaction Tax Manager to join its tax team. You will advise on tax aspects of M&A from diligence through closing and partner with deal teams on high-impact investments.

You will lead due diligence, guide deal structuring, and monitor evolving tax laws to protect and maximize portfolio value. Mentoring juniors and communicating complex concepts clearly are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Taxation, or related field.
• CPA or JD preferred; MST/LLM is a plus.
• 5+ years of transaction tax experience with focus on M&A, ideally at a Big Four firm.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; able to explain tax concepts to non-tax audiences.

Responsibilities

• Analyze transaction-related tax exposures across acquisitions, dispositions, and restructurings.
• Lead tax due diligence and advise on deal structuring to optimize value.
• Partner with deal, legal, and finance teams to ensure tax compliance and strategic alignment.
• Prepare tax memos and reports for senior stakeholders.
• Track legislative and regulatory developments affecting transaction tax strategy.
• Mentor and develop junior team members.
