Job summary

PayPal is seeking a Tax Counsel - Information Reporting to ensure global policy compliance for information reporting and withholding rules (FATCA, CRS, CARF, 1099) across products and processes. The role collaborates with product teams to evaluate new and updated products for information reporting impacts and develops new policies as needed.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of tax experience with JD or foreign equivalent.
• Admission to practice law in at least one jurisdiction.
• Ability to manage significant tax matters independently.

Responsibilities

• Advises on complex tax issues affecting operations, transactions, and initiatives.
• Develops technical tax analyses to support planning, reporting, and audit defense.
• Partners with business units and Finance to structure initiatives tax‑efficiently and compliantly.
• Identifies tax risk exposures and suggests mitigation aligned with PayPal risk tolerance.
• Coordinates with outside advisors and mentors junior attorneys as needed.
