Job summary

The Quest Organization is seeking a hands-on Structural Engineer / In-House Architect to provide technical oversight and construction administration for tenant fit-outs and building projects. This internal resource reviews drawings, answers questions from general contractors, and offers field-based guidance throughout construction.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in structural engineering, civil engineering, architecture, or a closely related field.
• Professional experience in structural engineering, architecture or construction administration.
• Ability to read and interpret structural and architectural drawings and construction documents.
• Hands-on construction knowledge and field problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Review structural, architectural, and tenant fit-out drawings for constructability and coordination.
• Review proposed design changes, RFIs, submittals, and shop drawings.
• Respond to technical questions and RFIs from GCs, subcontractors, architects, engineers, and other stakeholders.
• Identify discrepancies, conflicts, and potential design or construction issues; raise questions with professionals.
• Provide construction administration and technical support throughout the project lifecycle.
• Conduct or participate in field observations to verify conditions and adherence to plans.
• Apply practical construction knowledge to resolve issues encountered on site.
• Review tenant improvement and fit-out plans for structural/architectural implications.
• Coordinate with outside architects, structural engineers, MEP consultants, contractors, and others.
• Provide internal technical guidance on structural and architectural matters, not as the primary PM.
• Maintain awareness of applicable building codes, construction practices, and standards.
