Job summary

Bayshore Residence and Rehabilitation Center is seeking an in-house Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to assess, diagnose, and treat residents with communication and swallowing disorders in a skilled nursing setting. The role supports varied needs across geriatrics, including AAC, voice, and fluency interventions.

Responsibilities include conducting evaluations, providing therapy one-on-one or in groups, and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to enhance residents’ quality of life.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology or Communication Sciences and Disorders required.
• ASHA certification preferred or required.
• Valid MN state license to practice independently.
• Experience with long-term care and/or geriatric care preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assess and evaluate residents with communication disorders to determine needs using interviews, standardized tests, and other tools.
• Provide therapy and intervention services one-on-one or in groups to target speech, language, voice, fluency, or swallowing difficulties.
• Work with residents who have communication challenges due to strokes, TBI, or other neurological disorders.
• Assess and treat dysphagia and feeding difficulties.
• Recommend and implement AAC devices and support their effective use.
• Stay current with evidence-based practices through continuing education and professional development.
