Job summary

Expeditors International of Washington, Inc. seeks a seasoned real estate attorney to join as Assistant Corporate Counsel, supporting Real Estate and Global Sourcing. You will draft, review, and negotiate complex real estate and procurement agreements while coordinating with landlords, vendors, and cross‑functional teams across time zones.

You should bring a JD with active U.S. license and 5+ years of commercial real estate practice; in‑house experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• JD and active license to practice law in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.
• 5+ years of legal practice, with deep experience in commercial real estate.
• Prior in-house experience preferred; law firm experience welcomed.
• Excellent judgment and the ability to work independently and collaboratively.

Responsibilities

• Handle real estate leasing, amendments, estoppels, and construction build-outs.
• Lead or support commercial procurement and capital project contracting.
• Provide clear, business-centric legal guidance to internal clients.
• Partner cross-functionally with legal, procurement, and operations teams worldwide.
• Assist with outside counsel management as part of the Legal Department’s initiatives.
