Job summary

Leadenhall Search & Selection seeks a Senior Counsel for its Houston-based legal team to support the company's growth and take ownership of transactions with senior stakeholders across the business.

The role focuses on real estate transactions and project development, spanning acquisitions, dispositions, development and construction within residential communities. You will advise on complex matters and coordinate with internal teams.

Qualifications

• Real estate acquisitions and dispositions guidance
• Residential development project experience desirable
• Experience advising on land-use, zoning, and development agreements
• Construction-related agreements and issues experience preferred
• Ability to coordinate with external counsel and internal teams
• Provide practical, commercially-focused legal advice to senior stakeholders
• Identify and manage legal and commercial risks across real estate portfolios
• Work collaboratively to ensure transactions progress efficiently

Responsibilities

• Leading and advising on real estate acquisitions and dispositions, including purchase and sale agreements
• Supporting the development of residential communities and projects from acquisition through completion
• Negotiating and advising on development agreements, easements, restrictive covenants, entitlements, zoning and land-use matters
• Advising on construction-related agreements and issues with internal teams
• Managing and coordinating external counsel where appropriate
• Providing practical, commercially focused legal advice to senior business stakeholders
• Identifying and managing legal and commercial risks across a broad portfolio of real estate projects
• Working with internal teams to ensure transactions progress efficiently and align with company objectives
