Job summary

Warren Recruiting has exclusive retained by a premier Houston-based law firm to identify a Senior Real Estate Attorney or Real Estate Counsel who can lead complex property transactions and serve as a primary legal driver on acquisitions, development projects, and leasing programs.

The ideal candidate is Texas-licensed with 3+ years of sophisticated real estate transactional experience, holds a top-tier J.D., and has a proven ability to mentor colleagues while partnering with client executives on

Qualifications

• Texas Licensed: Must be an active member in good standing with the State Bar of Texas.
• Years of Experience: A minimum of 3+ years of dedicated, sophisticated real estate transactional experience (acquisitions, development, and joint ventures) within a robust law firm practice group or as in-house counsel.
• Premier Credentials: Outstanding academic credentials (J.D.) from a top-tier law school and proven experience with high-stakes transactional work.
• Asset Class Versatility: Proven track record handling diverse property types (multi-family, retail, and office are essential; industrial or hospitality experience is a plus).
• Commercial Mindset: Solutions-oriented approach; you understand that legal risk must be balanced with business velocity.
• Houston Based: A commitment to the Houston, Texas real estate market and the desire to build a career at a premier local firm.

Responsibilities

• Lead high-value real estate transactions including acquisitions, dispositions, JVs, and financing across asset classes.
• Counsel clients through the development lifecycle, including zoning and land use regulations, construction contracts, and regulatory compliance.
• Lead comprehensive leasing strategies for institutional landlords across office, retail, and industrial portfolios.
• Act as a crucial business and legal advisor to client C‑Suite executives, private equity partners, and acquisition teams.
• Supervise junior real estate associates and paralegals on transaction execution, due diligence, and title and survey reviews.
