Job summary

Regency Omak Rehabilitation & Nursing in Washington state seeks a Staff Physical Therapist Assistant to provide direct patient care under the supervision of a Physical Therapist. You will follow the plan of care, assist with active and passive exercises, and document patient progress during visits.

The role requires a PTA degree from an accredited program and a current, unrestricted PTA license for the state. Strong communication with patients and families is essential.

Qualifications

• Possess a degree in Physical Therapy Assistant from an accredited institution.
• Maintain a current, unrestricted PTA license to practice in the assigned State.
• Ability to take direction from registered therapists and other team members to promote patient treatment and safety.
• Ability to work independently with periodic support and direction.

Responsibilities

• Following the plan of care, instructs and aids patients in active and passive exercise, muscle re-education, gait training, functional activities, ADL, transfers, safety, and prosthetic training.
• Observes and reports to the supervising PT, nurse, and physician the patient’s response and changes in condition.
• Instructs patient, family, caregiver, and other health team members in therapy areas to participate in care.
• Visits patient according to Plan of Treatment; completes a daily note for each visit.
• Participates in developing the Plan of Treatment with communication with the supervising Physical Therapist.
• Adheres to Therapy Standards of Practice in the provision of services.
• Reports patient progress, complications, and response to treatment to the Physical Therapist.
• Assist Physical Therapist in procedures, tests, and complex treatment to ensure safe evaluation and treatment.
