Job summary

Avamere Transitional Care of Puget Sound seeks a Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to assist in providing quality patient care under licensed therapist supervision. The role requires effective communication with patients, families, and the care team, and timely documentation per facility standards.

The PTA will implement treatment plans, coordinate with rehab staff, and contribute to department operations while maintaining licensure and CPR/BLS current.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an approved Physical Therapy Assistant curriculum.
• Able to practice unencumbered.
• Must maintain active CPR/BLS during employment.
• Good standing with regulatory agencies and licensing boards.
• Working knowledge of Medicare and payer sources.

Responsibilities

• Implements and executes established patient treatment plans under supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist.
• Communicate with patients, families, referring physicians, and other team members.
• Provides timely written documentation per facility requirements.
• Reports changes in patient status to supervising therapist promptly.
• Maintains awareness of patient and community needs, conditions and programs.
