Job summary

Burnett Medical Center seeks a full-time HIM Analyst/Coder to code discharged patient records for index maintenance, reimbursement, and research in compliance with state and federal regulations using ICD-10-CM, CPT, and related systems. The role analyzes records for completeness and supports HIM operations.

Qualifications include at least two years of coding experience, ICD-10-CM/PCS and CPT-4/HCPCS training, and CCS/CPC/RHIT certification.

Qualifications

• Minimum two (2) years coding experience.
• Completed training in ICD-10-CM and PCS, and CPT-4/HCPCS coding.
• Must demonstrate ability to work with physicians, hospital business office and medical center personnel in a highly professional manner.
• Experience with electronic medical records, abstraction, and an encoder preferred.

Responsibilities

• Codes discharged patient records for maintenance of indices, reimbursement, research and compliance with State and Federal regulations.
• Analyzes and reviews records for completeness.
