This is a highly visible, hands-on role, serving as a trusted advisor to executive leadership, physicians, and operational teams, translating complex legal and regulatory issues into practical solutions that support responsible growth.

Qualifications

• JD from an accredited law school.
• Active Ohio bar license.
• 7–10 years of progressively responsible legal experience.
• Significant healthcare-organization legal advisory experience.
• Experience negotiating complex healthcare and commercial agreements.
• Strong knowledge of HIPAA, Stark Law, and anti-kickback statutes.
• Excellent communication, relationship-building, and executive presence.
• Ability to translate legal issues into practical business solutions.

Responsibilities

• Advise executive leadership, physicians, and operational leaders on legal and regulatory matters.
• Support mergers, affiliations, joint ventures, and growth initiatives.
• Draft and negotiate employment, professional services, hospital, payer, and vendor agreements.
• Serve as Compliance Officer, overseeing programs, investigations, and remediation.
• Provide guidance on HIPAA, Stark Law, and the Anti-Kickback Statute, False Claims Act.
• Counsel on privacy, cybersecurity, data governance, telehealth, and digital health matters.
• Collaborate with HR on investigations, leave and wage/hour compliance, and discipline.
• Support governance, board activities, and outside counsel relationships.
• Manage litigation, regulatory inquiries, audits, subpoenas, disputes, and external counsel relationships.
• Educate leaders and employees on legal and compliance matters.
