Job summary

Merlin Labs seeks a business-minded government contracts attorney to navigate FAR/DFARS and commercial negotiations, supporting proposals, procurement strategy, and contract structuring.

You will lead inbound contract requests, draft teaming agreements, licenses, NDAs, and vendor agreements, and help build templates and playbooks for a lean legal team.

Based on-site at Merlin HQ in Boston, MA, with a top-tier benefits package and equity opportunities.

Qualifications

• Deep knowledge of U.S. government contracts law (FAR/DFARS) handling prime, subcontractor, and agency work.
• Strong background in commercial contracting, procurement, and vendor agreements.
• Experience in an in-house corporate legal department is highly valued.
• Able to operate with ambiguity in a fast-paced regulatory environment.
• Eligible for a U.S. government security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Own the legal side of Merlin's government contracts lifecycle: proposals, procurement strategy, negotiations, and FAR/DFARS compliance.
• Draft and negotiate teaming agreements, technology licenses, NDAs, and vendor/supply chain agreements.
• Develop contracting templates, playbooks, and process infrastructure for scaling.
• Grow into additional legal matters including foreign contracting, partnerships, licensing, and compliance questions.
