Job summary

Ferrovial Energy’s Legal Department in Austin, TX seeks an In-House Counsel to support the development, construction, financing, operation, and maintenance of utility-scale renewable projects in the U.S.

The role requires a Juris Doctorate, active US Bar admission, and 5+ years in energy, with experience in real estate, permitting, interconnection, and energy-related tax incentives. Strong negotiation and project management skills are essential.

Qualifications

  • Juris Doctorate required and active US State Bar admission.
  • Minimum 5+ years of experience in renewable or conventional energy, at a top law firm or corporate legal department.
  • Experience in real estate, permitting, interconnection, energy law and tax incentives is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Provide end-to-end legal support through development, procurement, construction, financing and operations.
  • Advise on M&A transactions, due diligence, and negotiation of purchase/sale agreements for projects.
  • Draft and negotiate energy project contracts (PPA, EPC, O&M, Asset Management, interconnection).
  • Draft and negotiate project financing documents and collaborate with lenders on bankability analyses.
  • Handle tax credit monetization structures and related agreements (Tax Equity, LLC Agreements).
  • Provide day-to-day asset portfolio management and regulatory compliance support.
