Job summary

Payscale is seeking an experienced attorney to join our Legal team and support commercial contracting and development of Payscale's privacy, data, and AI strategy. In this role, you'll drive compliance with evolving global laws in the tech space, advising on product and business initiatives with regulatory implications and helping to build trust with our customers and partners.

You'll work cross-functionally with Sales, Product, Engineering, Information Security, and other teams to embed

Qualifications

• J.D. from an accredited law school with bar admission in at least one U.S. state.
• 3+ years of relevant experience in SaaS, data analytics, or tech.
• Deep knowledge of GDPR, CCPA/CPRA, EU AI Act, and US privacy laws.
• Experience advising on regulatory compliance for privacy, data security, and AI.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; translate complex legal concepts for business audiences.
• Demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally.
• Excellent judgment and ability to manage a diverse portfolio of matters.

Responsibilities

• Assess customer and vendor contracts and data processing agreements for privacy, AI governance, and data sharing.
• Maintain policies, terms of service, and related legal documentation in privacy/data security laws.
• Conduct risk assessments for new features, integrations, and business initiatives.
• Support responses to data subject access requests, deletion requests, incident management, and regulatory inquiries.
• Collaborate cross-functionally to improve processes and embed compliance-by-design.
• Monitor regulatory landscape and advise leaders on new developments.
• Develop and deliver trainings on core regulatory compliance issues.
• Coordinate with risk and governance on third-party due diligence.
