Job summary

Playfly Sports is seeking an Assistant General Counsel in Pennsylvania to work with the General Counsel and senior executives on strategic legal initiatives and regulatory compliance. The role involves drafting and negotiating agreements across sports teams, conferences, leagues, venues, sponsors, and talent, and overseeing outside counsel.

The position requires 7+ years of experience in a top law firm or corporate legal department, a JD, and strong communication, drafting, and negotiation

Qualifications

• JD degree, admitted to practice law in the state where located
• 7+ years of experience at a leading law firm and/or corporate legal department
• Strong drafting and negotiating skills across multiple legal disciplines
• Experience with consumer data privacy/security issues and technology transactions (SaaS) is preferred

Responsibilities

• Draft, analyze, review, and negotiate agreements with teams, conferences, leagues, universities, venues, and sponsors
• Coach and develop members of the legal team
• Support mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, and strategic investments
• Identify regulatory requirements and translate them into business processes
• Anticipate legal and contract issues and design risk remediation strategies
• Oversee risk management and outside counsel
• Develop protocols for efficient deployment of the legal department
• Conduct periodic employee training on policies and compliance
