Nassau Financial Group, headquartered in Hartford, CT, seeks an in-house counsel to support the Legal Department across insurance, retirement and investment management products. Qualifications

• JD with a minimum of 5 years of practical experience in the life insurance industry (private practice or in-house).
• Admission to the Connecticut Bar is required.
• Experience in insurance law, financial services regulation, or litigation is required.
• Strong research, writing and analytical abilities with attention to detail.

Responsabilités

• Support all phases of litigation and pre-litigation matters, including claims disputes, consumer complaints, and regulatory inquiries.
• Assist in managing outside counsel, tracking case developments and reporting.
• Draft memoranda, pleadings, discovery materials, and responses related to litigation/regulatory matters.
• Collaborate with compliance and fraud teams to address suspected fraud and regulatory issues.
• Analyze legal and regulatory risks related to insurance products and business initiatives.
• Monitor developments in insurance laws and litigation trends impacting the business.
• Work cross-functionally with IT, product, compliance, and operations to mitigate risk.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
