Job summary

Compass is seeking an Associate Counsel to lead drafting and negotiation of contracts, including supplier, vendor, AI, and event-related agreements. You will partner with operations, people, growth, finance, and product teams to align legal guidance with business strategy across the Compass platform.

The role emphasizes improving contract templates, handling IP matters, and supporting brand licensing while leveraging AI tools.

Qualifications

JD required with bar admission (NY or CA preferred).
3+ years in top-tier law firm and/or in-house corporate/IP practice.
Strong drafting, negotiation, and analytical abilities.
Experience with contract management tools (SpotDraft a plus).
Able to manage multiple projects under deadlines in a dynamic environment.
Familiarity with privacy laws (CCPA, GDPR, GLBA, TCPA, DNC) a plus.
Interest in AI tools and licensing issues a plus.

Responsibilities

Draft, review, and negotiate contracts including vendor and AI/brand agreements.
Support marketing assets review and develop AI-assisted review tools.
Advise cross-functional teams on legal issues, policy, and business strategy.
Provide business-focused legal support on corporate transactions and integrations.
Improve standard form agreements and contract lifecycle management.
Oversee IP operations, including trademark portfolio management and enforcement.
