Job summary

Interstates is seeking an Associate Counsel to join our growing Legal team to support complex electrical, technology, and manufacturing projects. You will work closely with Sales, Operations, Project Management, and HR to provide practical, risk-aware legal guidance and help advance strategic business initiatives.

You’ll handle commercial contracts, corporate matters, compliance, employment, IP, and more, while collaborating with senior leadership to enable smart business decisions.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
• Licensed to practice law in at least one U.S. jurisdiction or eligible to obtain admission.
• 0–3 years of legal experience preferred.
• Experience reviewing, drafting, or negotiating commercial contracts is preferred.
• Strong research, writing, and negotiation skills are essential.

Responsibilities

• Provide practical legal guidance to business leaders and internal stakeholders on day-to-day matters.
• Draft, review, negotiate, and revise commercial agreements including customer and vendor contracts, NDAs, and other business contracts.
• Identify risks in agreements and propose practical, aligned solutions.
• Support contract negotiations and develop standard templates and review procedures.
• Conduct legal research and prepare analyses for business and legal leadership.
• Assist with governance, employment, IP, litigation, and strategic initiatives.
• Monitor regulatory developments and implement applicable requirements.
• Develop internal legal resources and training materials.
