Job summary

Pop-Up Talent is hiring an In-House Counsel to support a multi-entity restoration and construction operation in Chicago, IL. You will serve as the primary legal authority for contract enforcement, receivables recovery, and payment dispute resolution, while advising leadership on regulatory and operational risk.

Qualifications

• JD from an accredited law school is required.
• Active license to practice law in Illinois is required.
• 5+ years of experience in construction law, collections, or commercial litigation.

Responsibilities

• Draft, review, negotiate, and enforce construction and restoration contracts.
• Lead lien-related matters, including notice requirements, filing, enforcement, and foreclosure coordination across multiple jurisdictions.
• Oversee and execute collection strategies from pre-lien through litigation.
• Act as lead negotiator on payment disputes involving property owners, commercial clients, and insurance carriers.
• Provide legal guidance on construction regulatory requirements, general business, and HR matters.
