Job summary

Snap-on seeks a Legal Counsel to support its businesses by reviewing, drafting, and negotiating commercial agreements, including purchasing contracts, NDAs, amendments, and related documents. You will provide practical legal support on corporate matters and collaborate with the Legal Department to manage risks and contract compliance.

Ideal candidates have a JD with a good-standing license in at least one U.S.

Qualifications

• JD from an accredited law school required
• 0-2 years of legal experience, with interest in commercial contracts
• Foundational understanding of contract law
• Strong written and oral communication skills
• Collaborative with legal and business teams
• Self-directed and organized

Responsibilities

• Review, draft, and assist with negotiation of commercial agreements including purchasing contracts, bids, distribution agreements, NDAs, amendments, and related documents
• Identify and summarize key legal, commercial, and operational risks in contracts
• Provide timely, practical guidance on contract terms to business clients
• Assist with legal research on contract, compliance, regulatory, and general corporate matters
• Collaborate with Legal Department on complex agreements, compliance initiatives, and cross-functional projects
• Maintain and improve contract templates, playbooks, checklists, and other Legal Department tools
• Participate in business meetings to understand operations, priorities, and risk tolerance
• Coordinate with outside counsel on discrete matters as directed
• Perform other duties as Lead Counsel or General Counsel may determine appropriate
