Job summary

Tutor Me Education seeks tutors to provide in-home, one-on-one instruction for students with special needs in Salinas, CA. The role emphasizes supporting daily activities, literacy and math foundations, and building confidence through tailored lessons based on each student’s IEP.

Ideal candidates have experience with Autism, sensory needs and early literacy, and can create engaging, multisensory lessons while maintaining a calm, patient approach for home-based sessions.

Qualifications

• Experience working with students with special needs, especially autism, speech delays or sensory processing needs.
• Background in early literacy, foundational math and kindergarten readiness skills.
• Ability to use multisensory teaching strategies and visual supports.

Responsibilities

• Provide individualized, in-home instruction focused on kindergarten readiness and core academic skills.
• Support emerging reading skills: fluency, comprehension, sight words and confidence building.
• Reinforce early math concepts: counting, number sense, basic operations.
• Deliver handwriting instruction and fine motor activities.
• Incorporate language and communication opportunities within lessons.
• Maintain structured routines and positive behavior reinforcement.
