Job summary

YMCA of San Diego County seeks an In-Home Respite Provider for North County Inland & Coastal, delivering one-on-one care in clients' homes to foster independence and community participation. Duties include coordinating flexible, part-time schedules and working evenings or weekends as needed.

You will engage families, supervise clients safely, and collaborate with the supervisor to ensure high-quality care aligned with CCR Title 17 and DDS guidelines while serving ages 3–73 across our region.

Qualifications

• Minimum six months of caregiving experience or six course units in childcare, special needs, health fields, or related area.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Must reside within San Diego County or within 40 miles and have reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Engage with families and clients to understand needs and provide compassionate care.
• Provide one-on-one in-home and community-based supervision to improve independence and socialization.
• Communicate effectively with clients, families, and supervisor to ensure continuity of care.
• Address social, safety, and personal hygiene needs of clients with developmental disabilities.
• Coordinate a flexible, part-time schedule to align with family needs; hours vary by client.
