Job summary

Seaport Scripps Home Health is seeking a dedicated Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to join our home health team serving South County. You will provide in-home physical therapy under the direction of a licensed Physical Therapist and follow the physician’s Plan of Care.

You’ll support patients with mobility, strength, pain management, and range of motion, using proven therapeutic exercises and modalities, in a compassionate, independent work environment.

Qualifications

• Active California PTA license.
• Minimum 2 years of patient care experience (home health preferred).
• Current CPR certification.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable, insured vehicle.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide in-home physical therapy under the direction of a licensed Physical Therapist and in accordance with the physician’s Plan of Care (POC).
• Assist patients with mobility, strength, pain management, and range of motion exercises.
• Implement therapeutic exercises, gait training, transfer activities, and prosthetic training.
• Utilize physical agents such as heat, cold, water, light, electricity, ultrasound, and massage.
• Educate patients on the use of assistive devices (wheelchairs, braces, crutches, canes, prosthetics).
• Monitor and report patient progress and changes in condition.

Skills

Active California PTA license

Minimum 2 years patient care

Current CPR certification

Valid driver’s license

Strong communication & organizational
