Job summary

MaineTouch is seeking Personal Support Specialists (PSS) to provide in-home non-medical support to adults and seniors in their homes. Training is provided, and staff work independently with ongoing supervision.

Flexible full-time or part-time schedules are available, including day, evening, weekend, and overnight shifts where applicable. Mileage reimbursement may be offered, with opportunities for career growth through CRMA, CNA, DSP, and nursing pathways.

Qualifications

• Must be 17 years of age or older.
• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Active PSS certification in the State of Maine, or enroll in training within 60 days of hire.
• CNA (active or inactive) accepted.
• No experience required - training and support provided.
• Must not be listed on the Maine CNA/Direct Care Worker Registry with substantiated findings.
• Access to a working cell phone for scheduling/documentation.
• Reliable transportation preferred (assignment dependent).

Responsibilities

• Assist clients with personal care tasks such as bathing, dressing, grooming, oral care, toileting, and basic hygiene.
• Support mobility and transfers with or without mobility aids.
• Help with light housekeeping, laundry, dishes, and changing bed linens.
• Assist with meal preparation, serving, groceries, and errands per care plan.
• Provide companionship and support daily routines or hobbies.
• Observe and report changes in condition or safety concerns to supervisor.
• Follow client service plan and complete required documentation accurately.
• Follow infection control and safety guidelines during all interactions.
• Maintain client confidentiality per HIPAA and MaineTouch policies.
• Respond to emergencies and report incidents promptly.
• Treat all clients with dignity and respect.
• Maintain dependable attendance and follow schedules.
• Follow MaineTouch policies and participate in required training.
