Job summary

MaineTouch LLC is seeking Personal Support Specialists (PSS) to provide in-home non-medical care for adults and seniors, promoting safety and independence in their own homes. No experience needed; training and ongoing supervision available.

Roles include day, evening, weekend, and overnight shifts with full-time and part-time options. Responsibilities include assistance with personal care, mobility, meal prep, light housekeeping, companionship, and timely documentation while maintaining client

Qualifications

• Must be at least 17 years old.
• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Active PSS certification in the State of Maine or willingness to enroll within 60 days of hire.
• CNA accepted.
• No experience required – training and support provided.
• Must not be listed on the Maine CNA/Direct Care Worker Registry with substantiated findings.
• Ability to work independently.
• Physical ability to assist with mobility and daily activities.
• Strong communication skills.
• Access to a working cell phone for scheduling and documentation.
• Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license preferred (assignment dependent).

Responsibilities

• Assist clients with personal care tasks such as bathing, dressing, grooming, oral care, toileting, and basic hygiene.
• Support clients with mobility and transfers, including safe movement with or without mobility aids.
• Help with household tasks related to care, including light housekeeping, laundry, dishes, and changing bed linens.
• Assist with meal preparation, meal serving, grocery shopping, and errands as outlined in the care plan.
• Provide companionship and support daily routines or hobbies.
• Observe and report changes in client condition or safety concerns to supervisor.
• Complete required documentation accurately and on time.
• Follow infection control and safety guidelines during all client interactions.
