Job summary

MaineTouch LLC is hiring Personal Support Specialists (PSS) to provide in-home non-medical support for adults and seniors, promoting safety and independence. Training is provided, with ongoing supervision and a focus on compassionate, client‑centered care.

Roles involve assisting with daily living activities, mobility, meal prep, and companionship in clients' homes. Full-time and part-time shifts available, with day, evening, weekend, and overnight options where applicable.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 17 years of age.
• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Active PSS certification in the State of Maine, OR willingness to enroll in a PSS training program within 60 days of hire.
• CNA (active or inactive) accepted.
• No experience required - training and support provided.
• Must not be listed on the Maine CNA/Direct Care Worker Registry with substantiated findings.
• Ability to work independently.
• Physical ability to assist with mobility and daily activities.
• Strong communication skills.
• Access to a working cell phone for scheduling and documentation.
• Reliable transportation and valid driver's license preferred (assignment dependent).

Responsibilities

• Provide hands-on, non-medical support to older adults and individuals with disabilities to promote safety and independence in their homes or residential settings.
• Assist with personal care tasks (bathing, dressing, grooming, oral care, toileting, basic hygiene).
• Support mobility and transfers with/without aids.
• Help with light housekeeping, laundry, dishes, and changing bed linens.
• Assist with meal preparation, serving, shopping, and errands per care plan.
• Provide companionship and support daily routines or hobbies.
• Observe and report changes in client condition or safety concerns to supervisor.
• Follow all client service plan instructions and complete required documentation.
• Maintain infection control and safety guidelines; preserve client confidentiality (HIPAA).
• Respond to emergencies and report incidents promptly.
• Maintain reliable attendance and follow schedules.
• Participate in required training and comply with MaineTouch policies.
