Job summary

UnitedHealth Group seeks an Occupational Therapy Assistant to provide skilled in-home therapy under the supervision of a licensed OT. The role focuses on functional independence, daily living activities, and patient safety within home care settings.

You will document outcomes in accordance with physician orders, participate in care planning, and coordinate with care teams to ensure seamless transitions and effective rehabilitation.

Qualifications

• ACOTE-accredited OTA program completion or equivalent
• Active OT assistant license in the state of practice
• NBCOT certification or eligibility as OTA
• Current CPR certification
• 1+ year OTA experience (or approval/mentoring if less than 1 year)

Responsibilities

• Provide skilled interventions under the supervision of a licensed occupational therapist
• Document each visit per AOTA guidelines and regulatory standards
• Observe and report patient progress and any changes to the supervising OT
• Offer patient/caregiver resources for ADL/IADL needs
• Promote wellness through occupational engagement and participation
• Coordinate follow-up care with the admitting care center
• Keep up-to-date with OT trends and document care coordination
• Perform other duties as assigned
