Job summary

Prep Academy Tutors of Columbus seeks experienced educators to provide personalized, one-on-one tutoring in students’ homes across the Columbus area. Tutors work with K–12 students, delivering focused instruction and building skills in core subjects.

Ideal candidates are current or former classroom teachers with strong communication, organization, and adaptability to diverse learning needs. This role emphasizes individualized support outside a traditional classroom setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and one of: Ohio teaching license/certificate or equivalent credential.
• Demonstrated classroom teaching experience.
• Experience with students in grades K–12.

Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging, one-on-one instruction in students’ homes.
• Support Mathematics, English, Science, Social Studies, and related subjects.
• Adapt lessons to each student’s learning needs and level.
• Reinforce classroom instruction and foundational skills.
• Assist with homework, study strategies, and assessments.
• Monitor progress and communicate observations to families.
• Travel to students’ homes across Columbus area.
