Job summary

Residential Services, Inc. (RSI) in Virginia, MN is hiring a full-time Independent Living Skills Counselor (IHSC) for the In-Home Adult program. You will help adults with disabilities and mental illness live independently by providing skill training and supports.

The role requires flexible scheduling (40 hours/week, M-F, some evenings/weekends) and a background check. RSI offers benefits including health/dental, retirement plan, PTO, training, and more.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in behavioral science or related field or
• Four years of experience working with individuals with disabilities or
• Associate’s degree in behavioral science or related field and two years of experience

Responsibilities

• Provide skill training and supports to help adults achieve independence across multiple skill areas.
• Assess needs and develop supports plans with the person and their team.
• Support physical and personal needs, communication, household management, community living, and more.
• Assist with reduction/elimination of maladaptive behavior, sensory/motor development, socialization, vocational and educational activities, health and wellness.
