At Avenues Home Care of East Tennessee, our caregivers are our front line and most common representative. As an In Home Housekeeper or Caregiver, you will be caring for the elderly, vulnerable, disabled, and those who cannot care for themselves. You are required to prioritize the client’s needs and perform duties with care. Our office in Johnson City serves the Northeast Tennessee area including Kingsport, Bristol, Greeneville, Elizabethton, Erwin, and others.

Primary Responsibilities

• Assist with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) as per the client’s care plan, including bathing, dressing, grooming, hygiene, toileting, transferring, eating, and continence care.
• Assist with medication, housekeeping, laundry, meal prep, shopping, transportation, and companionship.
• Perform other household tasks as specified in the care plan.
• Report daily activities via the agency management system and logs, and communicate as needed through phone, email, app, or face-to-face.

Additional Expectations

• Practice safety and lift up to 50 pounds.
• Demonstrate honesty, accountability, and integrity.
• Provide superior care and monitor client conditions.
• Maintain appearance and adhere to dress code.
• Report shifts timely and report abuse or neglect immediately.
• Document incidents and maintain confidentiality per HIPAA.
• Attend meetings and in-services.
• Follow all company policies and procedures.

Required Knowledge and Skills

• Good communication skills and ability to follow instructions.
• Proficiency with Homecare Management System (ClearCare).
• Maintain a schedule, interpersonal skills, organizational skills, and confidentiality.
• Minimum requirements include being 18+, with a valid driver’s license, insurance, and preferably a CNA license or caregiver experience. CPR & First Aid certifications are preferred.

Preferred Experience

Experience assisting with ADLs or caring for elderly, disabled, or vulnerable clients.

Safety Expectations

• Follow safety rules and report unsafe conditions.
