Advocate Health at Home in the Chicago area seeks a Chaplain to provide comprehensive spiritual care to patients, families and healthcare staff. You will offer counseling, crisis support and sacramental service, while honoring diverse faith backgrounds.

Travel within the Advocate Aurora service area is required; on-call and weekend rotations are part of the schedule. You will collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, participate in care planning and contribute to QA/QCI processes to improve

Qualifications

• Completed masters degree (MA, MDiv) in religious studies, theology, divinity or related field.
• Strong background in functional theology and applying it pastorally to individuals and families.
• Excellent communication skills with knowledge of counseling techniques.
• Ability to identify clients’ needs considering diverse backgrounds (cultural, ethnic, religious, economic).
• Experience and compassion in ministering to those who are dying and grieving families.

Responsabilités

• Provide holistic spiritual care to patients, families, and healthcare staff, including counseling and sacramental support.
• Assist during emergencies, guide families through illness and end‑of‑life processes, promote patient safety.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, participate in care planning, education, and ethical discussions.
• Contributes to departmental operations, mentoring, and community outreach while upholding organizational values and maintaining active involvement in their faith community.
• Participate in QA/CQI process for Advocate Hospice.
