Job summary

Options Counseling and Family Services in Oregon seeks a Family Support Specialist to deliver in-home services and support to families referred through ODHS. You will assess needs, develop service plans, and connect families with community resources to promote stability and workforce readiness.

The role requires travel to homes, flexibility for evenings/weekends, and a commitment to confidential, respectful family support. Part-time 20 hours/week with potential scheduling adjustments.

Qualifications

• Two years experience working with at-risk families within the last five years or an equivalent combination of education, training, and work experience.
• Familiar with community resources and crisis services and how to access them.
• Must have respectful, open, unbiased, accepting attitude toward clients and their families.
• Relate effectively with children, adolescents, parents, staff and the community.
• Pass a ODHS background check and/or fingerprinting; Maintain client confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Provide in-home services to children, adolescents and families.
• Assess parental capacities related to child safety and well-being.
• Help families overcome barriers and identify strengths.
• Utilize Motivational Interviewing, Wraparound, Collaborative Problem Solving, and other practices.
