Job summary

Holy Family Institute in McKees Rocks seeks a Family Counselor for the In Home Community Services program. The role reports to the Director of In-Home Services and requires full-time, exempt status with local travel to meet clients.

The Family Counselor provides assessment, counseling, and case management services to families, collaborates with Allegheny County CYF, documents progress, and adheres to child protection policies while supporting safe, stable homes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Social Work or Human Service field preferred.
• 2-3 years' experience in Social Services working with children and families preferred.
• Must have a valid PA driver’s license with access to a reliable vehicle.
• Ability to obtain Act 33/34 and FBI clearances.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Engage clients using basic counseling and case management skills.
• Recognize signs of addiction, mental health, and developmental concerns.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office and Office 365.

Responsibilities

• Provides assessment of family problem areas, level of risk, and community resources.
• Develops and implements goal-based services to families.
• Provides counseling, family education, and case management services to families.
• Documents all progress of services provided.
• Works cooperatively with CYF and staff to ensure quality service.
