Job summary

Tri Valley Opportunity Council, Inc. seeks a Home Visitor to provide in-home instruction and group socialization experiences to support parents as their child’s first teachers. You will maintain contact with families and connect them with community resources.

The role involves planning visits, building partnerships, and coordinating services while safeguarding confidentiality and engaging families in meaningful learning activities.

Qualifications

• Proof of valid driver’s license and current vehicle insurance.
• Comfortable working with computers, willing and able to learn program specific systems.
• Demonstrated competency to plan and implement home-based learning experiences that ensure effective implementation of the home visiting curriculum and promote children’s progress across the standards.
• Knowledge of community resources and the ability to link families with appropriate agencies and services.
• Flexibility with respect to time and days able to work to meet family needs, including evenings.

Responsibilities

• Conducts weekly 90-minute home visits with young children and their families.
• Creates and maintains respectful partnerships with families.
• Plans home visits to enhance the parent/guardian’s role as primary educators.
• Assists families by obtaining follow-up services, including medical/dental.
• Maintains accurate data in program systems and documents home visits.
