Job summary

YMCA of Metropolitan Chicago seeks an Early Head Start Home Visitor to support child development and parental engagement in the home-based program. You will recruit eligible families, connect them with community resources, and implement education activities during home visits.

The role includes assessing family needs, maintaining accurate records, and collaborating with families to set goals while promoting healthy milestones and strong parent-child interactions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in early childhood education or related field.
• Must have or be willing to obtain Parents as Teachers certification.
• Ability to relate well to infants/toddlers and adults.

Responsibilities

• Recruit and enroll eligible families of infants/toddlers and maintain confidentiality of records.
• Implement the Parents as Teacher Curriculum in home-based settings.
• Conduct weekly home visits and model developmentally appropriate activities.
• Guide parents to become effective teachers and advocates for their children.
• Provide referrals for health, nutrition, education, and social services.
