Job summary

Premier Community Supports, LLC seeks Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to provide person-centered care for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in home and community settings. You’ll help clients live as independently as possible, guided by their preferences and goals, with support across daily living, community activities, and transportation.

Ideal candidates are empathetic, flexible, and team-oriented, ready to collaborate with families and care teams.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• At least 6 months of experience supporting adults/IDD, or 1 year with mental health conditions.
• Strong verbal and written communication; accurate documentation.
• Pass background check per Oregon rules.
• Valid driver's license, insurance, and access to a reliable vehicle when transportation is required.
• Smartphone required for documentation and timekeeping.
• Current CPR and First Aid certification; company training may be available.
• Willingness to complete annual training (min. 24 hours).

Responsibilities

• Build a supportive, person-centered relationship with the individual and follow their ISP.
• Promote autonomy and help the individual exercise rights and make choices.
• Assist with daily living activities and light household duties as needed.
• Collaborate with family and support team for best outcomes.
• Aid community participation and plan attendance at activities of interest.
• Support budgeting, shopping, and meal preparation when required.
• Administer medications or follow prescribed protocols with training.
• Identify incidents and changes in health or behavior; document accordingly.
• Provide transportation in a personal vehicle when needed.
• Adapt to varying schedules including day/evening/night shifts and weekends.
